Post ordering: Cancellations, returns, refunds 

Orders for everything on the Periva app are placed through the cart - including renting Shareables. 

Canceling orders
Orders can be canceled up until the cutoff time (for local products) which is different for each product or until the product has been shipped. Please reach out to Periva Support and we will do everything possible to cancel your order correctly. 

Returns/refunds 
Consumers in the United States return $1 TRILLION worth of goods. A large part of returns end up in waste streams. This is a silent yet large contributor to climate change, especially when you consider not just the end waste, but also the resources spent in the production of raw materials, manufacturing, transportation of the original products, and the processing of the returns. 

Periva is a marketplace of products and services that are sustainably produced and/or create sustainability through their use. Our core mission is to reduce environmentally damaging excessive consumption. This extends to how returns are handled on Periva.  

What we are actively trying to discourage is the consumerism that has emerged in recent years that suggests that consumers buy an item that they need for a short time, use it and return it when they are done. Or order 4 different sizes of a product, keep 1 and return 3. The Periva Shareables can help in these ‘try before you buy’ situations - enabling you to save money by renting an item for a short term need, or to test and see if you’d like to own it outright. 

For these reasons, returning items purchased from the Periva marketplace is a case by case process involving an understanding of why a customer needs to return an item and then taking action on it.  

Of course, mistakes can be made in ordering, and the product delivered can be subpar - among other legitimate reasons for returning an item. We gladly support such situations and help with returns as conveniently as possible.
